Spark warns of scam using its name

Fraudsters directing people to fake Spark website.

Spark is warning its customers to not be fooled by fraudsters pretending to work for the telecommunications company.

Callers are reportedly telling customers their Spark, formerly Telecom, services are about to be cut off because of security issues and then asking the customers to go online to a fake Spark webpage.

Some customers called as part of the scam were also asked to give remote access to their computer and provide personal banking information.

Spark is advising anyone who receives one of these calls to hang up immediately. Do not give them any personal banking information and do not go to the website.

If anyone has passed on information, Spark advises them to contact their bank immediately.

Spark said the scammers do not have access to Spark systems.
