New policy allows refund of up to $2500.
Trade Me shoppers that find the item they’ve bought doesn’t arrive or isn’t what was described will soon have added protection.
Trade Me will refund up to $2500 if the buyer hasn’t been able to resolve the problem with the seller.
Some items, such as property, vehicles and animals, are excluded. Purchases also must have been made using Trade Me’s card payment system.
The Buyer Protection policy will come into effect on February 21. Buyers will see the “Buyer Protection” logo if the listing is eligible.
