While the nationwide Covid-19 lockdown is in place, the Consumer NZ team will all be working from home. We want to assure you that we’ll continue to bring you our latest reports and test results via our website.

Consumer Advice Line

Our Consumer Advice Line will remain open for all members. If you have any consumer-related issues, don’t hesitate to get in touch. Due to high demand, our advisers will call you back when they can.

Contact Centre

Our Contact Centre will continue to be available to assist with your membership queries. You can call on 0800 266 786 from Monday to Friday, 8.30am-4.30pm, or send a message.


Along with maintaining our regular test and investigation content, we will be regularly updating our Coronavirus (Covid-19) page to keep you informed and answer your questions about the pandemic.

Consumer magazine

As printers are not considered an essential service, we are currently unable to print and post the April/May issue of Consumer magazine. We appreciate your understanding and assure you that as soon as we can, the issue will be printed and delivered.

Email updates

To keep you up-to-speed on useful news and resources during the lockdown period, we’ll be increasing the frequency of our What’s New email. You will now receive this weekly instead of fortnightly.

Payment reminders

If you receive payment notifications by post, you may experience delays in receiving your letter, or may not receive it at all. While we will do our best to get these reminders to you, you can always check your upcoming payments on your My Consumer profile. Alternatively, if you provide us with your email address we can email the reminders to you.
