Which models are a breath of fresh air?
We assessed the air purifiers in our 3.2x3.7m test lab equipped with air particle sensors and a VOC sensor.
We tested the purifiers against a few common contaminants of different particle sizes and types – smoke, dust and VOCs. To do this, we released a fixed amount of each contaminant into the test room, evenly distributed it with a fan, then turned the air purifier on full blast.
The sensors showed how effectively the purifier cleaned the air. The rate of the drop in contaminant levels was used to calculate the clean air delivery rate (CADR), which we use to compare purifier performance.
We also assessed each purifier for its ease of operation. This included changing filters, setting it up, and cleaning.
