I got this so I could read while I was recovering from carpal tunnel surgery in both hands. I live rural so can't always get to a library regularly so it's great to be able to download books from the public library online. I love that I can slot this in my bag and take it anywhere. I read outdoors, waiting for appts, in bed at night (great that it doesn't keep my husband awake!) and even in the bath-tub with a glass of wine. Haven't actually got it wet yet so I can't attest to it's waterproof claims but it's comforting knowing that it should handle an accidental immersion.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I really like the features of this e-reader. I chose it over the Kindle as I want an e-reader that reads e-pub format without the need for conversion software. I had previously had a Sony but they no longer make them and I prefer the advantages of an e-reader ( back lighting, dictionary, font size adjustment and e-ink) to reading from a tablet. I particularly like that the Kobo provides reading statistics.
In the 12 hours of use since buying my Kobo it has frozen four times. It seems from the internet that this is a common problem with Kobos generally and not just this model. The solution is to switch off and on but this does not stop it happening again. Following the advice of someone else who had this problem and was advised by the Kobo technician to buy another brand, I contacted Kobo through their Facebook link. I have supplied them with the information but unless they can provide a permanent solution, I will be taking it back.
