Good points

  • Very quick at getting to the boil.
  • Is very easy to fill (has a push-button lid).
  • Has a comfortable handle.
  • The on/off switch (on top of the handle) is easy to use.
  • The indicator light is easy to see.
  • The water can be poured in a nice even stream.
  • The kettle doesn’t have to be tilted much towards the end of pouring (so the angle doesn’t feel uncomfortable).
  • No problem with steam coming back at you.
  • Has 6 pre-set temperatures.
  • Has a 30-minute ‘keep warm’ function for the selected temperature.
  • Has an audible ‘water boiling’ reminder.
  • Has a ‘no water’ alert.

But

  • Noisy.
  • Pre-set temperatures in the higher range aren’t all that accurate.

How we test

Overall score is made up of:
Ease of use (40%)
Noise (40%)
Boiling performance (10%)
Energy efficiency (10%)

Noise was assessed midway through boiling-up and from 1m away. A higher score means less noise.

Price is based on a June 2017 price survey.
