Good points

  • Very fast to boil one litre of water.
  • Acceptable noise level.
  • Very easy to use controls.
  • The water can be poured in a nice even stream.
  • No problem with steam.
  • Push-button lid-opening for very easy filling.

But

  • Filter is a little fiddly to replace.
  • Kettle is glass so will need regular cleaning (any brown limescale residue can be seen at the bottom of the jug).
  • Towards the end of pouring the kettle has to be tilted to an angle that’s awkward to hold.

How we test

Overall score is made up of:
Ease of use (40%)
Noise (40%)
Boiling performance (10%)
Energy efficiency (10%)

Noise was assessed midway through boiling-up and from 1m away. A higher score means less noise.

Price is based on an October 2017 price survey.
