Aggressive radio ads
I signed up with PL TERM LIFE insurance in 1999 as a result of their aggressive radio ads.There was no contact with PL other than Annual invoices which I paid premiums unquestioned.
In 2012,I checked PL premiums to find other providers were charging 40% cheaper for the same product.
PL was also charging cheaper rate but had kept MY premiums on a higher stream set in 1999.
Insurance Ombudsman investigation concluded PL were under no obligation to tell me rates had drastically fallen over previous 5 years.
PL- BAD business practice but within bounds of legality.
MY FAULT was trust and complacency.
No, this product has too many drawbacks.
