Shreds paper into small length pieces.
Easy to start, reverse and stop.
Useful for shredding a few items.
Purchased on special at Warehouse Stationery
Seems to automatically stop when bin is full.
It struggles when trying to shred 4 or 5 pages at a time.
Gets overheated very quickly and then needs to cool down for about 20 minutes - avoid trying to shred large quantities at any one time.
Occasionally need to put into reverse to clear the cutters.
Maybe, it depends on what you're after.
Has the excellent cross shredding blades, which results in a confetti like end result (not the old fashioned long stringy bits)
Big storage bin. Easy to operate.
Claims it will shred Credit cards.
Fellowes is a well known American brand and has a good reputation for reliability.
Got this on Special at Warehouse Stationery for a good price of $83 (retail $119)
Make sure the top lid is fully fitted & secure in place on the bin, after emptying the contents, otherwise the inbuilt safety feature, will not power the shredder back on.
Like all modern shredders the cutter blades are meant to be oiled after each major cutting session, which is a bit of a pain. (have found you don't need to do it that often at all)
Will not shred CD's, DVD's.
Yes, I recommend this product.
