Usability

Good points

  • Very good usability (vestibule and sleeping area are spacious and comfortable).
  • Easy to assemble.
  • Reasonably quick to put up (13 minutes) and take down (9 minutes).
  • Two doors (good for ventilation on hot days).

But

  • Heavy to carry.
  • The partial-mesh wall will be a problem in cold windy weather.
  • Pegs are not particularly strong and they bend easily.
  • No instructions sewn into the bag.

How we test

Overall score is calculated from:

  • Usability (70%) – assessing the size and configuration of sleeping and living spaces, vestibules and storage, door configuration and access, windows and venting options.
  • Ease of assembly (30%) – assessing the time it takes to put the tent up and take it down again, the weight and ease of carrying the packed tent, pitching instructions, and quality of poles, pegs and guy points.
