In the small cottage style I once owned I self installed one of these units, condensation was significantly reduced.
The filter was not very efficient and the ceiling unit and the surrounding ceiling area got quite dirty.
The unit operates continuously and on very cold days I found this undesirable.
Being an electician I modified the system an included a temperature controller which turned the unit off below the set temperature.
I consider this unit best suited to an open plan layout.
I would rate this unit at 2.5 stars if the site allowed it.
Maybe, it depends on what you're after.
