We use specifications supplied by the manufacturer plus reliability and satisfaction data from our 2017 reliability survey to assess each system. Note: only DVS, HRV, SmartVent and MoistureMASTER had enough respondents for us to comment on their brand reliability and user satisfaction.

Pros:
We used to have a big problem with condensation during the winter. Since having the Moisturemaster installed, our windows remain completely dry, even on the coldest days. Any condensation caused by steam generated by cooking disappears within 15 minutes after cooking ceases.
The unit was about $1500 less than two widely-advertised brand systems, and did come with less features that these more expensive systems have, but it is nonetheless very effctive.
Cons:
The fan unit can be a little noisy (relatively strong background hum) if placed over rooms in the house. It would be better placed over unoccupied space, e.g. a garage.
