Ryobi

36V 5.0Ah Li-ion Brushless Kit RPW3600

Snapshot: This battery-powered waterblaster lets you cut the cord, but it's very expensive at over $800 once you've bought the battery and charger. Can it keep up with mains-electric models?

Good points

  • Long hose (7.6m).
  • Minimal hose/lance vibration.
  • Can be used with a 20L bladder away from mains water supply (but this will only last you around 3 minutes).
  • Part of Ryobi's 36V outdoor power tool range, so the same battery can be used in lawnmowers, line trimmers, blowers etc.
  • The quietest model in our round-up.
  • Includes rotary, fan and soap nozzles.

But

  • Below-average cleaning performance.
  • Heavy unit.
  • Short lance means too much bending down when cleaning.
  • Trigger very hard to pull back and tiring to operate.
  • Short battery life with 5.0Ah battery included in kit, 14 minutes in standard mode, and 6 minutes in Boost mode.
  • No patio brush.
