Tracking New Zealanders’ opinions on a range of issues, the Sentiment Tracker is a nationally representative study.
What do New Zealanders think about the housing market? How do they feel about the state of the economy? Who feels more comfortable about their savings – males or females?
Designed by Consumer NZ and conducted by Dynata, the sentiment tracker grows by 1000 respondents every three months. It is designed to provide a holistic understanding of how New Zealanders feel about a range of issues.
The data presented is a summary of findings, but only represents a small portion of the full survey.

This study is an online survey based on a nationally representative sample of the New Zealand population. Results are weighted by age, gender and region based on Stats NZ 2018 Census data. Respondents are sourced from an external panel provider, Dynata.
Surveys are conducted quarterly with at least 1000 respondents. The October survey was conducted between 29 September to 10 October 2021 (n=1015). Previous surveys: 15 to 28 June 2021 (n=1501).
