If you think nothing much changes, year on year, with how New Zealanders feel about their power company, you’d be wrong.

We carry out our power company satisfaction survey every year – to see which companies are doing the best job of keeping their customers satisfied. None of the top three companies from last year’s survey are at the top again this year.

About our power survey data

Our data is from a nationally representative survey of 1,937 New Zealanders, aged 18 years and over, carried out in March and April 2026.

Satisfaction rating shows the proportion of respondents who scored their retailer 8, 9 or 10 on a scale from 0 (very dissatisfied) to 10 (very satisfied).

Ratings are for providers that had 30 or more responses in our survey.
