Fisher & Paykel is an iconic New Zealand brand. But does the company still make washing machines you can trust?

Does Fisher & Paykel still make great washing machines?
F&P began production back in 1939: your grandmother might have relied on one to wash her linen tablecloths and Granddad’s best Swanndri. Can your family still count on a Fisher & Paykel today?
The currently available F&P washing machines we've reviewed range in capacity from 8kg, which is fine for most families, to an enormous 12kg. Prices are above average for comparable machines, but not at the extreme end.
The brand remains particularly committed to the traditional top loader: most of the current Fisher & Paykel washing machines in our database are in that category. And there are things these top loaders do extremely well. But our independent testing of washing machines currently available in New Zealand suggests that all those decades of Kiwi history don't automatically put Fisher & Paykel at the top of the washing-machine pile.
How we put Fisher & Paykel to the test
Our washing machine reviews include scores for dirt removal, rinsing, gentleness, spin performance, energy and water efficiency. We give the very best ones our Consumer Recommended tick. We also ask owners how satisfied they are with their washing machines and whether they've experienced any faults. As we do with all product categories we test, we give the brands owners are most satisfied with a People’s Choice award.
