Which ones are safe and easy to use?
Safety (50%): Safety tests are based on the Australian and New Zealand standard for prams and strollers (AS/NZS 2088:2013).
To score a perfect 10, a stroller must have no major or minor safety failures. Our recommended models all score eight or more for safety, which allows for one minor failure. A stroller with a major failure cannot score more than four.
Ease of use (50%): We put strollers through real-world conditions – over rough terrain, up and down stairs and through doorways. We check how easy it is to adjust the safety harness, recline the seats, fold and unfold the stroller, apply the brakes and lock the wheels.
Durability: We put the strollers on a bumpy rolling road rig for 64 hours at a speed of 5km/h. Then each stroller is attached to a machine that continuously simulates the action of mounting a kerb. Durability does not contribute to overall score.
