When we decide which products we’re going to test, we make sure we include a wide range of products: from budget brands right up to top-of-the-line expensive options.
It’s actually someone’s job at Consumer to make sure we’re including the products that people are most likely to be thinking about buying. You’ll often find her down at Kmart, looking at what new Anko products they have, and at The Warehouse, checking out the Living & Co range.
So which one of those budget brands does best in our rigorous tests? We’ve found there’s no single answer: one brand triumphs when it comes to stick vacuums, air fryers, food processors and kettles, while the other reigns supreme for slow cookers, microwaves and toasters. And the specific model matters, too.
Here’s our guide to nabbing a bargain appliance that’ll do the job well.
