The results are in – the most reliable benchtop blenders, food mixers and food processors, with the most satisfied customers, according to New Zealanders.

Below, you’ll see which brands people love and which they wish they’d left on the shelf. To see how different models performed in our test lab, visit our benchtop blender, food mixer and food processor review pages.
About our reliability and satisfaction survey
We surveyed nearly 9,000 New Zealanders and asked them, among other things, which products they’d bought in the past 5 years, what faults they’d experienced, how satisfied they were, and how likely they were to buy from that brand again.
We’ve analysed the data and presented the results as reliability and satisfaction ratings, from lowest to highest. The highest-rated brands get our People’s Choice award, an indication of many satisfied customers.
The least reliable and satisfying brands
That’s right, “brand”, not “brands” – Kmart is bottom of our list for all three product types.
Benchtop blenders
Kmart’s survey results were a mixed bag – it rated highest for reliability but low for satisfaction. So a Kmart benchtop blender could keep going strong for years, even if you’d prefer it didn’t!
Food mixers
Kmart food mixers might be cheap, but with lowest reliability and satisfaction for the Anko brand you should probably look elsewhere.
Food processors
Don’t make a dicey choice by buying a food processor from Kmart – you could end up being quite unsatisfied with your purchase, as many of our respondents were.
