The top on our fire has cracked from the flue outwards towards the front slowly increasing all the time. Despite Mitre 10 being rung as the supplier they quickly passed onto Metro. Metro blamed lack of firebricks in fire which they were clearly shown are in the fire. Metro would only work with a warrenty if we had the fire removed sent to Timaru for shipping to North Island for repairs.
No customer service or backup from Mitre 10 or Metro. Unpleasant to deal with and dont recommend as suppliers. No point in 10 year warrenty on firebox when top is part of it and not covered from cracking.
No, this product has too many drawbacks.
It's very easy to light and get going; warms up really fast - and so does the kitchen. It's fitted with a wetback and in winter we get all of our hot water from it, unless we're away and it's not lit. Even though it's a wetback model it produces enough heat to keep the whole house warm unless it is severely cold. The dogs absolutely love it!
