How we test tablet computers

Man hand working with tablet and blueprint on architectural project at home while relaxing on couch.

Our test assesses:

  • ease of use

  • multimedia including watching videos and listening to music

  • screen quality such as lighting and brightness

  • processing and WiFi speed such as CPU, memory and graphics

  • device capabilities like ports, cellular connectivity and storage.

We also look at how long the battery will last while watching videos and browsing the web, both with and without the keyboard (if included).
