In the winter months, my slow cooker is a lifesaver. After coming home from work or sports in the dark and cold, there’s nothing better than knowing dinner is done.

Slow cookers can also help you spend less at the supermarket as they are great for cooking cheaper cuts of meat – the slow cooking makes the meat tender.
Here are 6 reasons my Consumer NZ colleagues love them, too.
You don’t need to spend big money on a slow cooker. Our test of 10 slow cookers found 3 models that cost less than $100 and are excellent at slow cooking.
